Sophomore Selam Demeke was voted as the junior class president for the 2022–2023 school year. Demeke plays soccer and basketball at Justice as well as being the historian of the Ethiopian-Eritrean Club.
This is Demeke’s second year serving as class president. “I met and worked with a lot of new and familiar people, helped organize fun events, and got to be a bigger part of the justice community,” said Demeke.
Similar to her fellow student-leaders, Demeke hopes to make the school community a more inclusive environment. “I want to build more connections within the class of ‘24,” said Demeke. “Everyone should be allowed to have a fun high school experience and I aim to provide that.”
