Sopho­more Selam Demeke was voted as the junior class pres­i­dent for the 2022–2023 school year. Demeke plays soccer and basket­ball at Justice as well as being the histo­rian of the Ethiopian-Eritrean Club.

This is Demeke’s second year serv­ing as class pres­i­dent. “I met and worked with a lot of new and famil­iar people, helped orga­nize fun events, and got to be a bigger part of the justice commu­nity,” said Demeke.

Simi­lar to her fellow student-lead­ers, Demeke hopes to make the school commu­nity a more inclu­sive envi­ron­ment. “I want to build more connec­tions within the class of ‘24,” said Demeke. “Every­one should be allowed to have a fun high school expe­ri­ence and I aim to provide that.”
