Stephanie Bilimoria is welcomed as the new International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator at Justice High School. Bilimoria is from Michigan and didn’t learn about the IB program until she moved to Washington D.C. where she worked as an intern at Lewis High School, which offers the curriculum. The following year, she was employed there as an IB Biology teacher. She taught for 19 years at Lewis before taking on the role of IB coordinator for an additional 9 years.
Due to an IB Coordinator position opening at Justice, Bilimoria moved to Justice. She advises freshmen and sophomore students who are interested in the IB program but unsure of where to begin to take classes that suit them. “Take a class in your strength. Take the class that you feel most confident in.”
Bilimoria also gives counsel for students who are interested in taking an IB class, but not necessarily completing the IB Diploma. “If you’re going to explore an IB class, usually do it in your interest. So if you know that art is your thing, take the IB art class. If you love math, take an IB math class, even an A in one IB class can make a huge difference.”
