On Feb. 18^th, Justice High School Choral Ensem­bles held its annual Broad­way Desserts produc­tion, featur­ing songs from top musi­cals such as Hamil­ton, Grease, Dear Evan Hansen, and more. Guests sat down to hear hit show tunes, joined by an inter­mis­sion filled with tasty treats.

The first act contained 11 songs, with solos, duets, and group perfor­mances. “My favorite part was the duet ‘Fine’ from Ordi­nary Days,” said junior Miles Stadler. “It was very enter­tain­ing and I think [the perform­ers] played their parts extremely well.” The act was brought to a close by Glas­gow Middle School Choral Ensem­bles’ perfor­mance of “Happi­ness” from You’re A Good Man Char­lie Brown. At the later show, however, Glas­gow sang “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen.

At inter­mis­sion, the main hall­way was packed with tables full of cook­ies, brown­ies, and cupcakes for guests to grab. “There is no real connec­tion between the Broad­way songs and desserts, the desserts are mainly for fun. It gives the audi­ence a treat for coming,” said senior performer Hailey Salazar.

The second act began with a cheery atti­tude, as the Cham­ber class sang “Sparkle­jol­lytwin­kle­jin­g­ley” from the Christ­mas musi­cal Elf. Prior to the clos­ing perfor­mance, the senior members of Justice’s Choral Ensem­bles performed “For Good” from Wicked.
