Women’s History Month takes place throughout March every year. Its purpose is to commemorate and reflect on the vital role of women in American history and society today and acknowledge their accomplishments. This month, students at Justice celebrated female teachers and staff who consistently support their students and keep this school thriving.
Leah Reid is a marketing education teacher who has been working at Justice for 3 years. She taught Business, Marketing, and AP Economics in Beijing, China for three years before coming to Justice. “Ms. Reid is very passionate about what she teaches and is dedicated to seeing her students graduate and build a robust life plan,” said sophomore Mohamed Aziz. “She allows her students to develop a better understanding of the world of marketing.” Reid loves the Justice community, including the students and teachers that make it enjoyable. “My department of business and marketing teachers are really strong, friendly, and make it a joy coming to work every day,” said Reid, “Everyone is so polite and conscientious- there is great comradery here!!” Reid plans to stay local further down the line. “My husband and I just bought a house a mile from school, so we plan to raise our kids here and have them attend Justice in about 15 years.”
Victoria Lisle is an IB Psychology and History teacher who has been working at Justice for six years. “Ms. Lisle is very caring and is passionate about helping all her students,” said junior Israel Rivers, “She makes sure you understand the content and is very easy to talk to about anything.” Lisle loves the relationships she has built with other students and staff at Justice. “[I enjoy] meeting awesome people here who I love getting to know and learn from every day,” said Lisle.
Sarah Kelly is an IB English teacher who has been working at Justice for ten years. “I love being a part of the English department here and we have a lot of great English teachers so it’s been really fun working with them,” said Kelly. Junior Kaitlyn Gardell expressed her appreciation for Kelly. “Ms. Kelly is an organized and warm-hearted teacher and advisor. She is helpful and teaches the class in a structured but open-ended way,” said Gardell. “She also encourages opinion-based discussion which I think allows students to better connect with education.”
Thank you to all the female staff at Justice for all you do and the continuous impact you have on the school and the students. Here’s to celebrating Women’s History Month at Justice!
