Look no further than the Army Educa­tional Outreach Program (AEOP), which has summer and year-long appren­tice­ship oppor­tu­ni­ties in univer­si­ties and Army labs nation­wide! Programs for high school students include the Research & Engi­neer­ing Appren­tice­ship Program (REAP), the High School Appren­tice­ship Program (HSAP), and the Science & Engi­neer­ing Appren­tice­ship Program (SEAP).

“[STEM is] great, you get to build a lot of stuff, and it’s super fun.” said junior Anthony Sandoval-Bonilla. Students like Anthony recom­mend STEM given the skills it can give in prepa­ra­tion for things such as trade school and future jobs.

“What [students] can learn in STEM is real-world expe­ri­ence, the biggest things are crit­i­cal think­ing, prob­lem solv­ing, and work­ing in a collab­o­ra­tive group.” said STEM teacher Alphonso Gaydon.
